Sailfishing
Winter
Sailfishing in Islamorada is a tradition. We use live bait, usually ballyhoo or pilchards and light spinning tackle, i.e. 12 or 20 lb test. There are fish here in great numbers from November thru April. While we target sailfish we also catch blackfin tuna, kingfish, wahoo and occasionally dolphin. The sailfish will sometimes shower the schools of bait allowing us to run up and cast a bait to the fish, often in very shallow water. This is one of the most exciting types of fishing in the world. Contact us for a full or half day charter.
